  • In most instances, I initiate the placenta processing as soon as I reach my workspace. Should there be any delays, your placenta will be appropriately stored in a dedicated space.

Every item used in the preparation undergoes thorough sanitization before and after each use. The workspace is meticulously sanitized, and I use as many single use items as I can.

I follow all OSHA guidelines for sanitation of all work spaces between clients.

I follow all food safety guidelines the same way a restaurant commercial kitchen does when preparing food for ingestion.

I carry a valid food handlers card for the State of Texas.

I have completed two Blood Borne Pathogen trainings including one specifically for placenta encapsulators and preparation.

To guarantee that your placenta receives the meticulous care and attention it deserves, I adhere to a policy of encapsulating only one placenta at a time.

  • 80% of mothers experience some sort of baby blues symptoms.

Hormone levels drop rapidly to pre-pregnancy levels within 4-5 days after birth, often causing a crashing feeling.

97% of women who encapsulated their placenta reported positive benefits.

98% would encapsulate their placenta again.

  • The possible benefits of placenta encapsulation include: a decrease in postpartum mood disorders, increased production of oxytocin, a decrease in stress hormones, restoration of hormonal and mineral levels following bleeding after birth, and increased milk supply.

    Nutrients in your Placenta:

VITAMIN B6-Helps support adrenal function (adrenal glands are what produce hormones). Helps to calm and maintain a healthy nervous system. Helps to speed up metabolism by acting as a coenzyme in the breakdown of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Helps your body to produce antibodies – antibodies help your immune system.

VITAMIN B12-Helps to treat some types of anemia. Helps your body to use fat and carbohydrates for energy and to make new protein.

VITAMIN E-Protects against toxins such as air pollution. Helps damaged skin cells to heal.

IRON-Iron is the substance in red blood cells that carries oxygen from your lungs to transport it throughout your entire body. Without healthy red blood cells, your body can’t get enough oxygen-which can lead to fatigue.

CYTOKNES-Small secreted proteins released by cells in the body. They have a specific effect on the interactions and communications between cells. They help in the making of new cells to heal and replace damaged cells and tissue.

STEM CELLS-Help to repair damage done to the body caused by childbirth. Helps you to heal and recover quicker.

    Hormones in your Placenta:

ESTROGEN, PROGESTRONE, TESTOSTERONE-Contributes to mammary gland development in preparation for lactation, stabilizes postpartum mood, regulates post-birth uterine cramping.

PROLACTIN-Promotes lactation; increases milk supply; enhances the mothering instinct.

OXYTOCIN-Decreases pain and increases bonding in mother and infant; counteracts the production of stress hormones such as Cortisol; greatly reduces postpartum bleeding; enhances the breastfeeding let-down reflex.

PLACENTAL OPIOD-ENHANCING FACTOR-Stimulates the production of your body’s natural opioids, including endorphins; reduces pain; increases well-being.

THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE-Regulates the the thyroid gland; boosts energy; regulates metabolism.

CORTICOTROPIN RELEASING HORMONE (CRH)-Regulation of CRH helps to prevent depression.

CORTISONE-Reduces inflammation and swelling promotes healing.

INTERFERON-Triggers the protective defenses of the immune system to fight infection; inhibits virus reproduction.

PROSTAGLANDINS-Regulates contractions in the uterus after birth; helps uterus return to its pre-pregnancy size.

IRON-Replenishes maternal iron stores to combat anemia; increases energy; decreases fatigue and depression.

HEMOGLOBIN-Oxygen-carrying molecule which provides a boost in energy.

UROKINASE INHIBITING FACTOR AND FACTOR XIII-Stops bleeding and enhances wound healing.

IMMUNOGLOBULIN G (IgG)-Antibody molecules which support the immune system.

HUMAN PLACENTAL LACTOGEN (HPL)-This hormone has lactogenic and growth-promoting properties; promotes mammary gland growth in preparation for lactation in the motherIt also regulates maternal glucose, protein, and fat levels.

PHOSPHORUS-Aids in digestion, hormone balance, cell repair, and nutrient utilization

  • During our consultation we will talk about placenta packages, add ons, and preparation methods.

When you have made your selection I will send over my service agreement. Once the service agreement and payment is submitted then you are good to go! All fees must be paid before your placenta is returned to you.

  • Depending on the preparation method you can expect anywhere between 90-200 capsules.

**This number can vary based on length of gestation and size of baby

  • Hospital policy affects when your capsules will be ready:

Ascension Providence holds your placenta up to 72 hours.

Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest releases your placenta immediately. Your placenta must be removed from the room right after birth. Make sure you have someone who can keep it in a cooler if I’m not attending your birth.

Capsules & chocolates can take up to 72 hours.

Tinctures take 6 weeks due to fermentation.

  • The only reason there would be a risk is if the placenta wasn’t stored properly. Make sure to follow placenta care instructions until your placenta can be retrieved.

  • The only reasons a placenta cannot be encapsulated is if you have HIV, Hepatitis, an active placental infection, or if it sent to pathology.

  • GBS+, Genital Herpes, & Meconium do not prevent encapsulation but do affect preparation.
